Working Marathon

I just finished a marathon of a work week... 6 days in a row, and all but one 8 hours plus!

I know many people work 40 hour weeks regularly, but as an entertainer, I'm kind of soft in that respect. Of course when we're rehearsing, we put in a lot of hours, but time performing takes a lot more out of you than practicing.

I picked up two extra days at the Venetian, and one of those days we had two extra shows and were there for nine hours. Then my regular days at the Venetian. Then I had a day at Tivoli village where I juggled for 6 hours (my arms are ready to fall off), then back to the Venetian for another day.

...Whew...

Now my boyfriend came back into town last night and I have 3 whole days off! Yay!!! There will definitely be some couch time with the fur monsters today...a lot of it.

Sunday Funday Video of the Week

Sure this cuddling cat and kitten are cute, but the real "Awww" factor comes right at the end, so play it through, it's totally worth it.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

First of all, I would like to say that this week's Stay Cool with Hot Stuff for Summer treasury so far has 96 views, 34 comments, 28 clicks and ONE SALE! Congratulations ReneeBrownsDesigns!!!

In Travel News:

The boyfriend left yesterday afternoon for Wisconson to visit his family. They own a lake house on Lake Wisconson and every year he goes up to help them put in the pier for Summer.

I really wish I could have gone! I love his family and always have so much fun up there. Unfortunately, even if I could have gotten out of work for the weekend, I couldn't afford it.

Memorial Day weekend is always one of the busiest weekends of the year, and there was no way I could get the producer to close the show during that time.

Oh well, he'll have a wonderful time, and he promised to send me lots of pictures. Maybe I'll make a ton of money this summer and we can both go over for Labor Day to take out the pier and still have some fun.

Trivia Night

My friends and I went to trivia night again. It is no longer a manhunt, as my single friend bagged one all by herself a couple of weeks ago. I'm so happy for her. It's the first time she's liked a guy in 7 years... usually they last one, maybe two dates and they turn out to be weirdos. Now she's going on date number 5!

We did better than usual at the trivia contest, but didn't win anything. It's tough to say what place we finished in as the computers were down, so all the scores were hand written and out of sequence.

We drank our hard cider and ate "Irish Nachos". These are homemade potato chips, covered in cheese, bacon and sour cream. The pile of them started out bigger than my head, and there was plenty left over for one friend to take a snack home to her husband.

Take it Off Tuesday: Striped Doggie Sweater

It's been a while since I've done a "Take it off Tuesday Sale", so I figure I'm a bit overdue.

Today, you can get this Striped Dog Sweater for 35% off! Coupon Code: TUESDAY

As always there is FREE SHIPPING on all my items to anywhere in the US and Canada!

Just because the weather is getting warmer, doesn't mean your fur babies don't need some extra warmth when the nighttime chill hits.

In Kitten News:

I was so excited, I finally bought some catnip and was waiting anxiously for the boyfriend to come home so we could see how Alfred would react to it.

He could have cared less... Maybe he's too young to enjoy it (going on 11 weeks or so now), or maybe he's just one of those cats that doesn't like it.

Oh well, he's still rolly poley and playful and cute, so who needs it?

Sunday Funday Video: Confused Lamb

This poor little lamb hears his name being called, but is having trouble finding out where it's coming from. I just love his little lamb run... Might be tcfw (too cute for work).

Book Review: The Alexandria Link

Last week I finished The Alexandria Link by Steve Berry. I must say that the subject matter was fascinating, and I'm really interested to know how much he got from facts and how much he made up.

The story itself took a while to get into, but by the end it lived up to it's thriller nature. It was like a spy novel meets The Da Vinci Code. Lot's of biblical intrigue, and many characters that you don't know if you can trust. Though some of the plots cooked up by the characters were just a little too perfect, but that's the kind of thing you'll find in many of today's movies as well.

If you are a fan of these types of books, then you will totally enjoy this.

Synopsis:

At the start of bestseller Berry's second thriller to feature Cotton Malone (after The Templar Legacy), Malone, a former employee of the covert branch of the U.S. Justice Department, is trying to lead a secluded life as a bookseller in Copenhagen. Unsurprisingly, that hope is short-lived when his son is kidnapped and his ex-wife, Pam, asks for his help in rescuing the boy. The abductors intend to force Malone to reveal what he knows about the survival of the legendary lost library of Alexandria, which may hold ancient texts that could undermine Israel's claim to biblical legitimacy. Malone and his allies get mixed up in Washington intrigue and double-dealing as they try to identify the high-level traitor seeking to use the secret sources to change the dynamics of the Middle East.

Two and a Half Dogs

Alfred, the new kitten, is beginning to settle in just fine. Gibbs, the puggle, has kind of taken on the daddy role and protects him from Bess, the chihuahua. Alfred and Gibbs now play all the time. Gibbs is good about being gentle and Alfred is good about not using his claws.

Alfred is beginning to think of himself as one of the dogs. He comes when he's called, and he gets kind of upset that he can't come out for a walk with the others.

Bess is a bit slower to adjust, and can still be kind of snappy, but everyday there's a small improvement. And then when they're all tired, they'll all sleep together quite nicely.

Computer Issues

Some of my regular readers may have noticed that there was no Sunday Funday Video of the Week, this week. Well, yesterday, my computer decided to stop working.

Now, I've known for a while that my computer was slowly dying, and I've been trying to save up for a Mac, but something always comes up like replacing air compressors or going to the dentist or something.

I tried turning it off... sometimes it needs a little rest and then will work just fine. When I went to turn it on again...it wouldn't.

I never had a computer that just refused to turn on. I thought it was done for.

When I came home from work, the boyfriend had fixed it. Not using any of his computer savvy, but he told me that the plug had come out of the wall, and the laptop battery had run out.

Jeeze! Of all the computer problems and fixes that it could have been, that's one that I actually could have handled. *slaps forehead with palm*

New Kitten, Actually

Well, Saturday night the boyfriend broght home the new kitten. We named him Alfred and he's 8 weeks old. I've had cans my whole life, but I've always adopted them at 7 or 8 months, so I've never had a kitten quite so tiny before.

The dogs are adjusting OK. Gibbs (the puggle like creature) is fascinated and for the most part very nice to him. Bess (the chihuahua), on the other hand, is doing her best to tollerate him.

We've been keeping a close eye, and keeping them separated by a fence and slowly introducing them. At one point, though, I had the kitten on my lap and got Bess sitting next to me. She was such a champ and was doing her best to be good... well, until the kitten thought it would be fun to play with her ear. Bess wasn't too happy about that.
In other news:
There's a new sale going on! All patterns 10% off! Check out the top of this blog for details.

New Kitten? Maybe?

There's the possibility that we are getting a new kitten. One of the guys that works with the boyfriend had a stray that gave birth in his backyard. He's taken them inside, and getting them used to people right now.

When they can be weaned from mom, we'll find out if we can have one. There were 4, a calico, an orange one, and two black ones. If we do get one, I want a boy, as they are a little more chill than the girl kitties and I think it will make it easier to get him used to the dogs.

Since my cat died 2 years ago, we still have all the kitty stuff, so all we'll have to get is food (I think the stuff goes stale after 2 years...lol).

It's still unknown whether or not we'll get him. If we do, great! If not, the doggies are plenty enough to handle and I'll know that the kitties are still going to good homes.

Manhunt Results

Well, my friend is very shy, which I didn't realize before as she is very outgoing at work, and with girlfriends. I tried to get her to ask a guy what time it was, and she was too nervous even to do that.

I said, "What's the worst that could happen? That he tells you it's 8:30?"

We still had fun, played trivia, drank hard cider, and came in 25th place... out of 34. We were doing ok, but the music round really sunk us. I kept teasing her since she's a singer and should know this stuff, but in reality it's really hard to guess a song after only 3 or 4 notes.

We're going out again on her next Tuesday off...Maybe I'll make her sit at the bar instead of a table. She is really beautiful, so I'm sure she'll catch somebody's eye.

Going on a Man Hunt

...well, not me personally, but I'm helping out my friend. She's been on like a million online dates and they've all been duds. Though this has made for some hillarious stories, it's not quite getting her the result that she wants.

There's a pub here in Vegas that has trivia night every Tuesday. We figure that if a guy plays trivia, he might have at least half a brain. It's not a guarantee, but considering the guys that she's been going out with, it seems a lot more promising.

It will be like going shopping, but I don't have to try anything on (which in my opinion is the worst part about shopping). Even if we don't find anyone for her, we'll at least have good drinks, good food and have fun playing. She's good at the music questions, I'm better at the general knowledge.

I am wing-woman, hear me roar!

Sunday Funday Video -Cat Tricks-

It's time again for the Sunday Funday Video of the week! Now my dogs to some pretty cool tricks, but nowhere nearly as well as this house cat. I love how the cat responds to the verbal commands.
