Free Crochet Pattern

American Flag Dog Sweater
I really want to get my pattern for my American Flag Dog Sweater up for sale, but I'm worried that the star I created will be difficult to understand in the directions.

So for this week, I decided to give the pattern away for free for those that want to try it out and give me their feedback.

Simply send me an email at SleightlyWordy@aol.com and I'll send you the pattern. I would really appreciate the feedback, especially on the star.

Thanks you guys!

Lace Knitting

I've been on a lace knitting kick lately and finished a short sleeve lace sweater the other day.  I will still need to photograph it on my day off.  I'm really happy how it turned out, but I haven't tried it on my mannequin yet.

I always get really nervous when I finish a new piece before I put it on the dress form.  I worry that after all the hard work I put into it that it won't fit right, or look right and that I'll have to scrap the whole thing.  I wouldn't want to sell something that didn't fit right.

Now I'm working on a poncho that's lace knitting and beaded.  Though I've done a few beaded crochet projects, this will be my first beaded knitting project.  I've been working on it between shows at work, and my manager doesn't think I can finish it by the end of the week.  What better motivation for finishing a project?

I don't have a day off yet in sight, so it might be awhile before I'll have any photographs to show you guys.

Breaking Records

So I did my run today, and though it was totally exhausting, I beat my record. Hello 12.2 minute per mile pace! That's about 4.9 mph.

I just kept saying in my head, the faster you run, the faster it will be over.

I don't know what my sister's pace is, but I'm trying to get as fast as I can so I don't embarrass myself when I see her in August. She's been running for much longer than I have, so she's probably much faster than I am.

Next run is Wednesday. Hopefully I can keep this pace up and not revert back to my old times. Fingers crossed.

Getting Slower

I don't know if it's the heat, or what, but after running my best average time, now I'm getting slower and slower. I'll start out at a good pace, and then, after less than half a mile, I'll feel like I'm dying and then I'll slow down.

I'm still running 2.6 miles with my goal being 3.1 (which is a 5K). I want to get my pace up a little bit before I make my run longer.

This whole running thing is still pretty new for me.  Most of my friend's that run, go to a gym and use a treadmill which of course will keep their pace where they want it.  I, however, don't belong to a gym, and the thought of running in place when there's free sidewalks everywhere just seems stupid to me. So to increase my pace, I have to do it all on my own.

Sunday is my next running day.  We'll see where it goes from there.
