Today I've been trying to figure out how to focus my summer advertising on the Southern Hemisphere. Since most of my items are things to keep you warm, and since down there winter is approaching, it seems like the perfect thing to do. It's been harder than I anticipated.
Project Wonderful now allows you to focus your campaigns in different areas, but unfortunately the choices are US (north), Canada (north), Europe (north) and other. I'm trying other to see how it goes, but I have no idea how many Southern countries are in that group. So far on my google analytics I've had one hit from South Africa...but I don't know if it even gets cold there at all.
I'll keep plugging away, in the mean time, here are some shameless promotions of some of the things I have in stock.
I'm a professional magician, who loves to create things with yarn. I'm also a reader who loves books of all kinds...This blog is about my adventures in reading and crocheting and about my new forray into selling my items... www.AllThingsTangled.etsy.com

Updates and purses
I've kind of been on a purse kick lately, and I have to in the works at the moment. One is almost done, just needs a buckle, and the other just needs a little more crocheting and it will be ready. I've been under the weather since my return from Portland, so I'm not putting in as much time as I would have liked to.
I can't wait to post them though...and I'd love to see them do well in the summer since as the weather gets warmer, people are less interested in sweaters and scarves.
In other news:
My mom is officially out of ICU...YAY! She is still in the hospital, but now she's in a real room, and can make phone calls (yikes) and is allowed to walk around a little. She'll still probably be there for another week, but at least they are sure that she isn't going to die.

Sunday Funday Video / Plus an update
Mom's doing better now. Every day she needs less and less blood, and now she's actually getting some sleep. In a few days she'll probably be out of ICU, but everything is looking up.
Sunday Funday Video
Since now I'm in a much more chipper mood, it's time to get this blog back on schedule, and what better way for cheering up than a Sunday Funday Video of the week!
If you were disappointed on your wedding day when things went wrong, be thankful that you weren't this couple...

Bad News -Mom Sick-
I apologize for not keeping up with this blog right now, or commenting back as I usually do. My mom was taken to the hospital last Saturday for internal bleeding, and almost died twice. I went up there to visit, and she was doing so well, that I was able to come back early.
Of course, once I got back home, she just started bleeding again. I don't know if I'll have to go back up there or not.
Anyway, blog posts might be a little sporadic right now, but hopefully soon they'll get back on schedule.

Most Viewed Friday's Favorites!
We all have that fabulous item in our shop that has tons of views that hasn't sold. It's usually, in my case at least, one of our favorites. This week I decided to highlight some of the most viewed items in other peoples shops. Maybe one of you out there can find a home for one of them.
Tune in tomorrow, there's something that's going to be on sale!

Submissions --Most Viewed--
Back on track and back on schedule for the Thursday Submissions. Every Friday I put together an etsy mini of some of my favorite items made by other sellers, usually with a theme of my choosing. This week's theme is most viewed. Post the link to the item in your shop with the most views...maybe we can turn one of those views into sales! Then check back tomorrow for the Friday's Favorites!

Job Interview
I have a job interview today, for a real job...as opposed to my performing jobs which even though I make a living from them, I don't consider them real jobs. This one is for a Blackjack Dealer. There are a few places in town that have what is called "Party Pits" where all the dealers are females dressed more on the sexy side than your average dealer.
Part of me really wants to get the job because I really need the money, but part of me doesn't want to get the job because I haven't had to have a "real" job in over 10 years, and I don't really want to start now.
Another problem is that I can't tell them that I work as a magician. People tend to overestimate the things that magicians do with cards, and both casinos and players don't want magicians dealing for them. I mean, I'm sure if they search my name on the Internet they'll find out soon enough, but I can't volunteer the information.
So only time will tell what will happen with this endeavor.

Standing Still Today
I'm filling in again as a living statue today at the Venetian. It's been a while since I've done it... in fact last time was the marathon gig from hell where I was standing outside for 8 hours a day for 4 days. This time, I'll be inside, and only standing for 4 hours, hopefully (after the last one) it will seem like a breeze.
I still kick myself for giving up my regular statue shift. But my ex talked me into giving it up saying that he would take care of me if I fell short at the end of the month. Well, he's been gone now for almost 2 years, and I still can't get my shift back, so I just have to make due, filling in as needed.

Sunday Funday Video -Spring Forward-
Since today is the day that we spring forward and lose an hour of sleep, I thought it would be fun to show a "springy" video! And what could be more "springy" than a slinky. But this isn't the kind that you used to walk down the stairs...it's the human kind....Enjoy!

Oops!
I had forgotten that the boyfriend and I were going out on the boat Wednesday night, and then sailing all day Thursday. So I didn't get to do the submissions, and so there won't be a Friday's Favorite this week, but I'll get back on track next week.
Sorry for if anyone is disappointed.
A great big "OOPS" from me.

New Purse!
I've finally listed a new purse in my shop. It's made with beige yarn and a green lining and has a little rose on the outside. It has been a while since I've listed one, but I'm going to start making more to see if they sell during the Summer season.
It's always hard to figure out what to sell when it's warm, because the last thing you usually think of is knits. I tried to market fishnet tops last year, which I thought would be great for summer, but alas, it didn't sell. Hopefully this summer may be a lot more sale worthy...fingers crossed.
Remember to tune in tomorrow for the "Friday's Favorites" submissions!

It's good to have goals... even crazy ones?
We all have goals, some selfish, some noble, some important, some frivoulous...but me, I have the unattainable goal to be Samantha from Bewitched.
And what would I do if I could attain it? Solve world hunger? Promote world peace? Though those are lofty ideas, I would simply twitch my nose and my house would be clean. I really hate cleaning, and looking around my house right now...even Samantha would have to do a couple extra twitches.
It probably doesn't help that my boyfriend has hording tendencies that spill from the garage (which is his space) into my living room and when I finally shovel all his stuff back where it belongs (or if it doesn't have a place, back to the garage), I find a trove of treasures that I had thought I'd lost but had simply become buried.
Layers, people...layers of stuff. And that's after one week.
Oh how I wish I was Samantha!

Sunday Funday Video -There's a card for that?-
It's already Sunday again, which means it's time for the video of the week. They say (don't really know who "they" are) that Halmark has a card for everything...but that's not really the case. Check out some of these that Halmark forgot about.

Green kick? Green Submissions!
Every Friday I put together an etsy mini of some of my favorite items made by other sellers, usually in a theme of my choosing. Since I've been on a green kick lately (and since St. Patrick's day is coming up which I totally forgot about), this week's theme is GREEN!
If you have any green items in your shop, post the link to them in the comments and check back tomorrow for the Friday's Favorites!
In other news:

New Stuff! Green and more green!
I've kind of been on a green kick lately, and have finished and listed two new items. The first of which is a Bolero Jacket in green shades. Super comfy and super soft! You can click on the picture for more details.
The other item is Striped Fingerless Gloves! Also made from the same super soft yarn. I've seen lots of people wearing striped ones lately, so I thought I would give it a go, and I'm really happy with how they turned out.
As with all the other items in my shop, everything is Free Shipping anywhere in the US and Canada! And only a small fee to ship anywhere else in the world.

Book Review - Time and Again -
We read Time and Again by Jack Finney for book club last month. (Not to be confused with Nora Roberts' "Time and Again"), and it really was a lovely book.
Now I'm not usually a fan of time travel books, although I've read a few that I've enjoyed, and this is one of them. If you've ever seen the movie "Somewhere in Time" and liked it, then you might like this one. The movie was actually based on the book, though they are so completely different, you can't even say if one is better than the other, but they have the same sort of feel to them.
I probably never would have picked this up if it weren't for book club...which is one of the reasons I like belonging to one, so that I'll read new types of things. If you do decide to read it, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Synopsis:
Simon Morley, an illustrator, is enlisted by a secret govenment project to hypnotize himself into 1880s New York. He is successful, and goes back to investigate a mystery. As we are overwhelmed with details of 1880s New York, we can almost believe that this time travel is possible. Morely finds himself in love with his landlady's daughter in the past, and must deal with threats both in the past and in the present.
