There are many things I like to do by hand like knitting, crocheting, and sewing, however washing dishes is not on the list.
My dishwasher has gone on strike.
I don't know whether we'll be moving soon, so I don't want to invest in a new one, so now I'm stuck cleaning the old fashioned way. Yuck.
Truth be told, the dishes are probably much cleaner than they were before the washer took its last breaths, but still...
Now I have the worlds largest dish rack, because if I'm going to have to wash them, I sure don't want to dry them. Unfortunately, I have to leave the dishwasher open for them to dry which means tripping over the door.
Someday, if I'm ever wealthy, I'm not going to spend my money on fancy cars, designer clothes or expensive stylists. I'm going to get a cleaning lady (or man)... Then I'll know I've really made it.
Wouldn't a cleaning person be awesome? There are just so many things to do other than clean!

It's funny, but find it hard to live without my dishwasher too. But when I was growing up, I was the dishwasher! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad I'm not the only one that doesn't enjoy cleaning. Love the finished product, but actually doing it, ugh! With the Spring sunshine seemingly well settled, I'm being urged to get on with it, while I can see what needs doing! In winter, it's always so much harder to motivate myself. Find making toys so much more satisfying!!!
ReplyDeleteHowever, I don't have a dishwasher, never have and am unlikely ever to do so. Which is why the two daughters are determined to get one when they have the space for one! One has made it!
Aaaahhhh...Dishes...Dishes and laundry are those never-ending piles of stuff to clean, aren't they? I'm right there with ya...I do NOT enjoy cleaning. Sometimes, when I was little, I wouldn't play with certain things (I remember turning down playdough one day), just because I wouldn't want to have to clean up the mess...Is that weird? LOL
ReplyDeleteSorry you're stuck with doing dishes by hand, but at least there is that one upside - they're just that much cleaner! (Trying to stay positive for ya!)

So funny! And I love that you're using the racks as dish drying racks! Just perfect!
ReplyDeleteMy dishwasher died a couple of years ago, and since then I promoted my teenage son to chief dish washer (the dishes definitely were cleaner in the dish washer than when he was doing them!), but now he's off to college and I've had to take over the dish duties...I feel your pain! :-)
I know what you mean! Ours died last year and I did the same thing, used the dishwasher as the drying rack. I was very happy when we got a new and better a week later!
