Running with Dogs

Gibbs and Bess, my running buddies
I love running with my doggies. They keep me motivated, and it makes them so happy to go along.  One is a chihuahua and one is a pug chihuahua, at least that's what the vet thinks, they were both adopted.

Last run I did, I had to do without them. I want to run farther and farther, but their little legs get tired after about a mile and a half, then I'm the one who's trying to motivate them.  I feel so bad leaving them behind, and I know they don't understand that next run will only be a mile and that they can come.

I've been doing one day a mile, one day a mile and a half and one day two miles.  It breaks up my routes and makes it more fun, and two of those days doggies can come.

When I did my last run, it was my first time in a while that I went without them, and it was actually quite lonely. I'd look down at my side and there were no furry bodies running next to me.  I have to admit, though, it was easier to run without holding the leash.

Submissions: Kid Stuff

Every Friday, I put together a treasury of some of my favorite items made by other etsy sellers, post it on my blog and call it the Friday's Favorites.

Last week's treasury: A Touch of Elegance, had 166 views, 44 comments, 216 clicks and 26 admirers.

This week, I'm looking for KID STUFF.  This can be clothes or toys, but no baby stuff as I did that treasury a couple of weeks ago.  If you have any kid stuff in your shop, post the link in the comments, then check back tomorrow for the Friday's Favorites.

Don't have kid stuff? Feel free to nominate a friend's item and help spread the love.

More Halloween Stuff!

Yesterday, I listed a couple more Halloween items. They're not over-the-top Halloween, so you can wear them all season, but the colors will show off your October spirit... get it? ...Spirit? ... ok, I amuse myself.

Halloween House Socks
Keep your feet warm and be festive with these orange and black striped house socks. Hand knit, these slippers are thick and cozy for your comfort. Great for those cold Autumn mornings.

Halloween Fingerless Gloves
These fingerless gloves are perfect for Halloween. Knit with orange and black stripes, these wrist warmers will help you get in the spirit of the season. Also great for those that work in cold offices; your hands stay warm, but your fingers can still type!

Addicted to Black and Orange... & Chumlee?

So, I'm still waiting for the new crochet hooks, and in the interim, I've become addicted to orange and black.  I had yarn left over from the halloween pillows, so while the boyfriend and I watched movies, I made some fingerless gloves.

...Then, as the hooks still weren't in, I started a pair of orange and black house socks.  Just the cuff left to do on the first one, and then it's on to the second.

Depending on how much I get done today, I might have them listed as early as tomorrow, although Thursday or Saturday is probably more realistic.

In other news:

Chumlee from Pawn Stars
Went to the San Genaro feast on Saturday with the boyfriend.  It was crowded, but the food was great and the company was fun.

It was a long narrow walk back to the parking area, everyone walking pretty much in a line.  We were actually walking right behind Chumlee (the guy from Pawn Stars).

We didn't talk to him or anything, we were tired and just wanted to get back to the car. The boyfriend and I just kind of rolled our eyes and smiled.

Halloween Pillows are Here!

JackOLantern Vampire Pillow
I know, I know, it's still September, but when I had the idea to make these pillows, I just couldn't wait until October.

So far, I have a Jack-O-Lantern Vampire Pillow, crocheted in orange and black with a touch of green for his stem and his widow's peak. I thought by combining two Halloween icons, you'd get the best of both worlds in one pillow!

Ghost Halloween Pillow
Next I made a Black and White Ghost Pillow. I wanted a cute ghost, but I also wanted him doing a little childish taunting.  He kind of reminds me of Casper (for those that are old enough to remember Casper the Friendly Ghost). He'd make a great friend for the Vampire Pumpkin, and will be the perfect starting point for your spooky decorations.

I have another pillow in mind that the boyfriend had an idea for.  I'm waiting for a smaller crochet hook to come in the mail so I can get started on that one.
