New items listed!

I finally got a couple of my newest items up on etsy.  


I'm really proud of this Halter Top.  It's so great for summer as it is stylish and cool.  Many people only think of knits for the cold season, but knits can be very cooling for summer too.  They absorb perspiration on those hot days, plus they allow breezes to reach your body instead of blocking them.






I also made this Hair Kerchief. It is a great addition to any summer wardrobe as it adds a little bit of style while keeping your hair off of your face. It is knit with a delicate yarn in order to let the lace pattern shine through.

Crafting and Gigs

I did not get the new pictures done yesterday.  Now they probably won't get done until Thursday. 

I did get the buttons I won from a tophatter auction.  Now I can finish the coffee mug cozies that I started.  I have a couple for mother's day that I can't wait to list.  It's probably good that I didn't get the pictures done, as now I can do the dog sweater and the cozies all at once.


Today, none of that will be happening as I have 6 shows at the Venetian, and then I have a strolling magic and juggling gig till very late tonight.  Gigs have been really slow as of late, but I think they're going to start picking up finally.  Plus, one of the Venetian performers is going on vacation to Italy, so I will be performing on extra days there.

Just Listed: American Headband

American Flag Headband

Today I listed this American Flag Knit Headband. It was one of those pieces that came out just how I'd envisioned it, which doesn't happen too often.


Great for keeping your hair out of your face and away from the barbecue's flames on the Fourth of July, or wear it over your ears to show your American Spirit in wintertime. 


Last night I finished an American doggy sweater.  I'm going to list that soon, along with the pattern.  Now I need to buy some treats so Bess will model for me.

Merry Christmas, Happy Headbands

I recently made and posted some new Headbands! I designed them so that it would have a cable stitch look, while being a crochet piece, and I really like how they turned out.

I also wrote up the Pattern for them as well. If you purchase the pattern, you have permission to sell anything you make. They are not hard to do, though the X pattern may seem a bit daunting at first, it is comprized of very simple steps, and if you take them one at a time, you'll find it easier than you think.

Submissions in Pink!

It's finally October and is "Breast Cancer Awareness Month", so to kick it off right, this week I'm looking for items in pink. If you have items that incorporate awareness for the cause, all the better.

My submission is the Pink Zig Zag Headband. It's pretty, it's pink, and it keeps the hair out of your eyes...what more could you want in a headband?

Out to Sea...

Well, out to the lake really...

The boyfriend and I are going out for a two day trip on Lake Mead...you see, his boat is named "The First of May" and so he thought that it would be fun to take a trip on that day. Because of our schedules, we will actually be sailing back to Vegas on the First, but it will still be lots of fun.

There are lots of coves and stuff that we haven't seen because it takes a whole day to get there by sailboat...even with the motor, our top speed is about 5 knots (don't ask me what that is in mph, all I know is it ain't fast).

We're leaving Wednesday night, but cell phone service is suprisingly good on the lake, so I'll still have access to email and stuff.





New item:

I finally got my newest headband up and listed. I really like how it turned out, and I think the picture is so much better than my last headband picture that now I think I need to retake the blue one.

I'll be working on the bolero jacket today and if I don't finish it by the time we leave, I'll take it on the boat with me!

Some of you regulars may have noticed something new at the top of my blog...yes, it's an email subscription. Save yourself time scrolling through posts and get this blog directly to your email. I know for me it can be difficult keeping up with all the blogs I follow, this is so much easier!

Book Review and New Projects!

I've been working on a couple of smaller projects lately. I finished a new headband in a pretty green color and am almost finished with a blue beret. I don't know if I'll have the time to list them today, but they should be up by the end of the weekend. I want them up soon so that I can get started on another custom order. The Bolero Jacket is quite a hit and this will be my third order for one...yay!




Book Review:

I just finished Losing Ground by Catherine Aird. I love a good who-done-it, but this one was quite dull and I was quite dissappointed. By the end I only sort of cared who did it...I can't say that I figured it out before hand, because I wasn't quite moved enough to try. Apparently there's a whole series of Inspector Sloan novels, but I think this one will be enough for me.

I'm also in the process of reading Birds Without Wings by Louis de Berniers for my book club. So far it's a really beautiful book, I'll let you know what I think when I've finished it.

I was asked yesterday to post some pictures of the River Run...unfortunately I think we only took 2 or 3...When the boyfriend finally gets them off his camera, I'll post them.

Tuesday's Tips for Etsy

News before the tip: So I crocheted a bullseye for the nerf gun and it works really well with the velcro. Unfortunately (but fortunately) the boyfriend had a stilt walking gig last night so we didn't get to play.

Also...I also got a convo from a fellow etsian who's in town and wants to see me perform. She emailed me before she left Canada, so hopefully she can get to a computer to see where I'm at.



Also...I can't wait to start listing some new stuff. Here's one that's been listed for a while but is still one of my favorites.

New Things

Ok! So I finally got my new items listed! I wish I could just create things and hand them off to someone else to do the rest...Oh well, until the Keebler Elves are not so busy making cookies, I guess I'm on my own.

Anyway, The first item I listed was a Blue Headband Ear Warmer! It keeps your hair out of your face and your ears warm too!

Sometimes in the winter I don't feel like wearing a hat, but my ears will get really cold if I don't. That's why I think this is the perfect solution!

Knit in super soft country blue yarn, this cable knit headband will keep you warm and stylish during those cold winter months. It's nice an stretchy and should fit most head sizes comfortably.



Then I listed a Pink and Grey Doggie Sweater! This sweater is perfect for your little one. It's knit in a baby pink with heather grey cuffs in super soft yarn. Bess, my lovely model, is a 7lb chihuahua, which will give you some idea of the size.
