Another Sunday Run

I went out running this morning for the first time without a sweatshirt or my headband/earwarmer. It was in the mid sixties, and there were clouds in the sky so I didn't need my sunglasses yet.

No walking for me this time, and no huge gusts of wind.  I thought I was doing a really good pace and thought that I would get past the 12.6 miles/min.  Unfortunately, I was at 12.7.  Close, and I'll take it, but next week I'm going to try to do better.

In other news:

I listed a pair of lace fingerless gloves yesterday.  I actually made two pairs, one for the shop and one for tophatter.  That way I can advertise my shop without depleting my stock.

I also photographed a new piece which I'm going to try to list today.

!!!New!!! Faux Fishnet!

Warm Faux Fishnet Fingerless Gloves
I just finished making these Faux Fishnet Fingerless Gloves!

I've always loved the look of fishnet, but due to the weather, it's not always practical to wear it.  I thought that something inspired by this look, just might to the trick, and I'm really happy how they turned out!

I'm going to wait and see what the response to these are, and if it's good, I'll probably branch out with a few different colors, and/or maybe some different trim.

Take it Off Tuesday -Fingerless Gloves

Before we get to the deal of the week, I have to say that I did something I rarely do... I put a book away without finishing it. I try to mix into my reading some classics every now and again, so I tried to read Crime and Punishment.

Well, I should have known not to open the book, when every Russian friend I had said they read it in school and hated it. If they hated it in their native language, what chance do I stand? But, it took it as a challenge.

I'm sure there are many translations out there, some better than others, but I have no idea how one would make that story readable. I'm so glad I never had to read it in school. Though I hate to leave a book unfinished, there are so many good classics out there, why read one that sucks out my will to live.

Now onto the deal:

This week it's all about keeping your hands warm with these Purple Striped Fingerless Gloves. I'm a huge fan of the fingerless gloves as my hands are always cold, but I hate that clumsy feeling that regular gloves give me.

For today only, you can get 35% off of this lovely pair. Just use the coupon code "Tuesday" when checking out.

There is only one pair available right now, so it's first come, first serve.

Cleaning Day

Oh how I hate to clean. Someday, when I have the money, I'm going to pay someone to do it for me, until then it's either me or the dog, and somehow I don't see her scrubbing floors and getting her fur all dirty. The boyfriend works about 12 hours a day now, so he is exhausted when he gets home...he'll still do heavy lifting for me, and the fish tank (when we got the fish tank I said I'd feed them but I wouldn't clean them).

I have some NPR podcasts downloaded for my listening pleasure while I do it. I've tried cleaning with the TV on, but then something usually grabs my attention, and I start watching and the next thing you know, the house is still messy and I feel guilty.

I'm hoping to have most of it done by lunch, that way I can work on restocking my shop for the rest of the day. Knitting is my reward. I'm almost finished with some striped fingerless gloves to relist, and then I have another pair that's sold that I want to make so I can put that in as well...

Now, where did I put that mop?

New Gloves...And Submissions

I finished and listed my Blue Chevron Fingerless Gloves. They're a bit longer than my previous gloves, and I love how they turned out. They're solid knitting on the palm side and have a lovely chevron pattern on the top! Next I'm going to write up the pattern and put that up for sale too.

Submissions for Friday's Favorites!

Every Friday I put together an etsy mini of some of my favorite items made by other sellers. This week, in honor of my new gloves, I'm looking for "Things for Your Hands". If you have bracelets, gloves, rings, lotions, or anything for your hands, post the link in the comments, and check back tomorrow for the "Friday's Favorites"!

Almost There

I didn't quite finish the gloves as I had intended, but the second one is almost finished, and I have an episode of "The Biggest Loser" to watch, so I think I might get it done by the time they start weighing in...well, at least that's the plan.

Then I have to go a recording studio to record a sound clip for the one woman show. At the very end I have a conversation on "speaker phone" with my aunt, and the recording that we have isn't a good one, so now we have to do it all over again. Hopefully it will be all set by tomorrow for the first paying audience.

Remember, there are only a few days left in the "20% off all sweaters" sale! Click here to browse.

Best Laid Plans

Today, the plan is I'm going to finish my new fingerless gloves. One is almost done, but since people rarely want only one, I think I probably have to do the other one too...lol. They're going to have a cute chevron pattern on them, and if I like how they turn out, I'll be posting the pattern as well.

The big cleaning project that I started months ago, is slowly chugging along. The living room is halfway done. I must have thrown out a truckload of stuff. It's kinda like spring cleaning in the fall. My favorite time to clean is after I watch "Hoarders"...sometimes I don't even make it through the episode before I start. If anything is a good cleaning modivation, that show is.

Otherwise, it's pretty much a day off for me. I have rehearsal tomorrow, and then Thursday will be my first show in front of a paying audience...eeek!

New Stuff! Green and more green!

I've kind of been on a green kick lately, and have finished and listed two new items. The first of which is a Bolero Jacket in green shades. Super comfy and super soft! You can click on the picture for more details.

The other item is Striped Fingerless Gloves! Also made from the same super soft yarn. I've seen lots of people wearing striped ones lately, so I thought I would give it a go, and I'm really happy with how they turned out.

Another Sale!

I made another sale last night. That's 2 in the past month. After a reeeeallllly long dry spell (was that enough e's and l's?), I'm hoping things are starting to pick up.

These are the wrist warmers that sold last night.

This time I sold a pair of rainbow wrist warmers.

Even though I'm always elated when I sell something, I also always get really nervous. It's not just a product, it's something that I worked really hard on and something that I put a little bit of myself into. I worry that people won't like it, that it will get lost in the mail, that something will happen (I don't know what this mysterious "something" is, but I worry about it just the same).

One of my "kids" will be shipped off to Florida today, and I hope their journey is a good one.

Never ending projects

I've realized that it's been a while since I've done a mailing for my magic stuff to the agencies in town, so that is today's project...if I can get the printer to work, that is. Hopefully it will get me a couple of gigs, since I haven't had any for almost 2 months (it seems like longer)...

I'm also going to look for a yarn ball winder for some of my recycled yarn...I saw some for around 40 bucks on ebay and some for a little higher on etsy. I'd really rather buy one from etsy, though, so we shall see. If anyone reading this has one for sale in their shop, please leave me a comment so I can take a look.

Click here to for a better look at these lovely wrist warmer/fingerless gloves!
Shameless plug:

These lovely pastel fingerless gloves are great for those of you where Easter might have a bit of a chill in the air...but they're great for anyone really...super soft too!

Don't forget to tune in tomorrow for the "Sunday Funday" video of the week!

Fingerless Gloves! ...and a little magic.

Aome people call them fingerless gloves, others, wrist warmers
Well, I put my newest fingerless gloves up in my shop on Thursday, but because of the whole "Friday's Favorites" thing, this is the first chance I have to tell you guys about them. Unlike the other pair in my shop right now, these one's are crochet...it not only gives them a neat look, but because they're a little faster to make, I can offer them for a bit cheaper (which in this economy is nice).

In magic news: The new trick is coming along nicely. I have also put in an older trick (called the egg bag, if there are any magicians reading this), that I haven't done at the Venetian in a long time. Now my 1 o'clock and 5 o'clock shows are completely different. Not only is this great for the audience (sometimes people come by and stay for all of the shows), but it really keeps me from getting bored.

There's another new one I want to put in soon, but I can't seem to find the book it's in...I think the vortex that is my living room sucked it up into some other dimention.

New Gloves!

These grey and pink gloves are now available at AllThingsTangled!
I had to take a short break from the custom sweater I'm making, so yesterday I made some new Fingerless Gloves in Grey and Pink! They are made out of super soft acrylic yarn and are washable too!

I have so many more ideas for fingerless gloves that I'll probably make a couple more pairs after I finish with this sweater...only one more sleeve to go!

Also, my other sweater was featured on HerBlueSatinSahes blog! She bought it and says it fits perfectly...yay!

Oh the Sales!

Bolero Jacket/Shrug in blue and cream...just one of the items sold last night
Last night I had 5 sales!!! I almost fainted when I saw my emails. Wahoooo!!!! I sold a zipper purse, blue fingerless gloves, black and grey fingerless gloves, winter flower coasters, and the Blue and Cream bolero jacket/shrug. I'm so excited. Everything is all packaged up now and ready to be sent out after my dentist appointment (nothing wrong, just a check up).

Last night's gig went well. It was a group of people from the Intel Corp having a private party at one of the restaurants at the Hard Rock. Sometimes it's really hard to perform for such a party because they're busy talking to each other about computer stuff and don't want to see any magic, but this group was great! They loved the performances I did throughout the evening and my time there just flew by...*sigh*...If only all the gigs I did could be this good.

Well, that's all for now...

Don't forget, tomorrow is Friday Favorites! If you'd like to submit something, please leave the link to your item in the comments.

While I'm getting sharp metal objects poked in my mouth, you could be having more fun than me over here!

Saturday is Special...and more!

Soft Blue Fingerless Gloves!
My Fingerless Gloves have now been photographed and listed! I like these so much better than my first attempt...they are really soft and comfy and I'm tempted to make myself a pair too!

In other news, the Consumer Electronics Show is in town right now, which means the rooms are full, but the showrooms are empty. My show was canceled today :( Not to worry though, this happens every year...and besides, I have a new scarf to photograph and list...I also have a lot of my boyfriends stuff to unpack (he's officially living with me now....yay!!!).

Oh yes, and the special for today...Anything you buy in my shop today, I'll refund you 20% of your total purchase price! All you have to do, is write the code FirstSale2009 in the comments section.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
