Christmas Doily!!!

Yay! My Christmas doily is now finished and uploaded into the shop. It's in traditional Christmas colors but the final look is more along the lines of the non traditional.

My boyfriend was sceptical when I started...he didn't realize that doilies need to be starched and pressed to create the final look...I can't wait to email him the pictures so he can see what I mean.

Check it out at All Things Tangled: Christmas Doily---Click Here!

Liberace

Last night I got to perform at the Liberache house. Not the museum, but his actual house! It was so cool...I was kind of disappointed that they didn't have the piano shaped pool anymore...*sigh*...they had filled it in and turned it into a ballroom.

It was also nice to see my friend Will who I met when I first moved to Vegas...He's a Liberache impersonator. He was there to greet the guests and play the piano...Marilyn Monroe was there too, and I think they did a show together after I left.

I didn't stick around...I'd had a 3 hour gig right before the one at the house, and I was tired and hungry.

In other news: I finished my Christmas doily, and will be posting it to the shop and the blog soon.

Busy, busy

Now that my sweater is finished, I've started working on some Christmas items...first up is a christmas color doily...I think I'm about halfway through!

In other news, tonight I get to perform at the Liberache house (no not the museum, but the one he lived in)...I'm so excited! I've driven by it many times (I had a friend who lived on the same street), but now I get to go inside...and get paid for it.

I have still had but one sale...I've been promoting all over the web, but I'm sure there's something I haven't done...I'll figure it out. It's like a treasure hunt! I'm glad I started the site now, though, because my magic shows are being booked like crazy...if not, I'd be sitting in front of the computer tearing my hair out, and that wouldn't be good...not to mention painful.

It's finished!!!

Yes, finally my sweater is finished and up on the site!

Click here to see it in it's natural habitat...at etsy

I was bound and determined that I would get it done last night (which ended up being in the wee hours this morning), and I did.

I thought I was going to have more time yesterday to work on it, but my show was canceled so I went on the boat with the boy instead.

In other news, I voted! I usually don't like to vote early. There's something, to me, really special about election day and going in with everyone else and casting your vote...however, I'm working on Tuesdays now, and I don't think I can make it to the polling place.

They almost didn't let me vote. They couldn't find my name for a while. Finally, 2 phone calls later, they found my name, misspelled, as well as the "you-spelled-my-name-wrong" form that they had me fill out last election...*sigh*

Indie Craft Wall

Still in Sight

My goal is to finish the sweater today and have some cool pictures posted...we'll see if that happens. Just a little bit more on the second sleeve and then onto the neck...I only have one show today, so it's totally doable...maybe I can even have it listed today too *fingers crossed*

I really want to get started on some smaller projects soon...I haven't listed anything new in a while and I want to get my shop full before the Christmas rush...I really hope there's a Christmas Rush...

In other news, I had to work an extra gig this weekend which is good, but the weather was so nice, and it might be the last nice weekend and I couldn't go on the boat with the boyfriend...It still tickles me to think that I live in the middle of the desert and yet I can sail all the way to Arizona...weird!

The End is in Sight!

As you can see from the photo, my sweater is almost finished! Yay! I really want to keep it, but I also really want to post it in my shop. I came up with a solution...I'm going to list it when it's done for 2 weeks, if there are no takers, then it's MINE ALL MINE (Bwahahahaha)...

I figure this way, if it really is meant for me, then I'll know and I won't feel bad that it wasn't unleashed on the world...and if it sells...Whooopie! I'll be extatic, so it's a win/win situation...life doesn't usually give you too many of those.

In other news, I have a show tonight and then a private gig at the Four Seasons...busy, busy!

Sweating the Sweater

Well, the body of the sweater is done! I was determined to finish it yesterday and my determination paid off...well...about 5 minutes before I had to leave for the last show.

I started on the sleeve...I love sleeves, because after the body, everything seems to go so much quicker...I'm knitting at the same speed, but all of a sudden I'm SUPER KNITTER going faster than the speed of light...well, not really, but it seems that way when I get to the sleeves.

Today I have the whole day off and I really which I could spend it curled up on the couch with my needles, but the kitchen is a disaster zone, there's no food in the fridge, and no clean clothes in the closet...I probably should tackle that stuff first...the never-ending chores list...

After that it's couch potato time! Are you really a couch potato if your knitting at the same time?

Beautiful Things

I'd like to dedicate this blog to some of the beautiful things I found on etsy made by the Etsyknitters Team. I picked six things that I would buy myself if I had the extra money...*sigh*...maybe soon I'll go on a shopping spree.

At Last...

Finally I got a new listing coming up on www.AllThingsTangled.etsy.com. It's a mint chocolate entrelac scarf...I know sounds tasty doesn't it...Then just imagine how delicious you can look if you were wearing it...

And since it's not for consumption, it's calorie free! How many mint chocolate items can you say that about.

Let me know what you think! Or better yet, purchase it and post a picture of yourself so everyone can see how it looks!

Update on the Misc...

The hand is almost better today...no lasting damage, thank goodness. Why is it that when one hurts their hand it's always the dominant one...I never hurt my left hand...*sigh* Murphy's Law does tend to run my life.

At work...The shows went fine yesterday until right in the middle a wedding party decided that that was the perfect place to take a photo....There were around 100 people watching the show in the square, and this couple and their photographer ran in and tried to pose right in front of the stage...IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SHOW!!! Did they not realize??? Why in the world did they think a bunch of people were standing around watching something? I can understand not being aware of one's surroundings, but please!

My new sweater is coming along nicely...I'm almost finished with the main body and now I'm working on the sleaves...I can't wait until I'm done, because I have lots of ideas now about what I want to make next for the shop. Sometimes it's really nice to stop and make something for yourself to cleanse the brain, so to speak...and believe me, my brain needs quite a bit of cleansing.

The Bruised Hand

Oh yes...I tried to stop, but I couldn't...Knitting that is, with a bruised hand and all. Not to mention that I was knitting in between shows where I was doing magic (with my hand) and juggling (with my hand)...oh the pain, and yet, in between shows, there I was working on my sweater...Smart?...Probably not.

The juggling was the worst: Balls pounding into my hand over and over and over again...ironically, I didn't drop as many during the day as I usually do...does pain really make one more careful?

As far as the magic went, I didn't change much, but I did cut the silk trick to avoid tying knots...I know, it makes so much sense that I would knit which is in effect knot after knot after knot and then go onstage and be afraid to tie 3 little old knots...Consistancy is not always my strong suit.

The blueness is fading a bit this morning...6 shows today, and they should be easier than yesterday...

Will I forge into the land of rollerblading? Yeah! You betcha...on Thursday...but I think I'll do my shows first, just in case.

Ouch

I went roller blading yesterday...then I fell down and went boom...twice.

I'm fine, but I broke my fall with my right hand...*sigh*...and now it's all bruised.

My whole plan of knitting in front of the tv was then shot. How can you knit if you can't hold a knitting needle? Instead I iced it.

It's a little better today. I'm going to try and get some knitting done in between shows today while I read my sailing book...

Yes, I said sailing book. My boyfriend got a sailing book and lent me his books on the subject so I know what in the world is going on.

Sleep Knitting

If I'm not reading, I often watch TV while I knit my creations. Last night I experienced sleep knitting....my eyes were drooping and I kept falling asleep, and yet my hands were still busy at work! Luckily, I'm at the part of the sweater where you knit the same thing for 7 inches, otherwise I might have had to sleep-unravel tonight.

Sweater is coming along nicely right now. I've separated the sleeves and now I'm working on the main body...I've put in bids for a number of alchemy projects on etsy, so I might have to stop working on them if one is accepted.

*fingers crossed* that one will.

Welcome

Hello everyone and welcome to my knitting blog...

I'm a knitter and a reader and many times I do both at the same time...Sounds imposible, but it's easier than you think!

I have my own store at www.AllThingsTangled.Etsy.com where I sell my creations....I opened it up because of my love of knitting and crocheting, and my projects needed an outlet...a place to set them free so to speak.

When I started, I fell in love with the entrelac style and made many scarves...I couldn't get enough of that woven pattern...first using multi colored yarns and then moving on to two different colors and changing them in alternate rows.

Right now, I just started on a sweater that's actually for me...but who knows? When I'm done it might just end up being sold...I never know what a project is going to tell me when I'm done.
