Out of Yarn

...well, not out, out of yarn, but out of the yarn I need for my projects.  Usually when I get ideas to make things, it's not during normal yarn store hours, so I go into my stash and start picking out colors that will be good for the piece.

Then what ends up happening is I run out of yarn before I finish the piece and end up starting something new with the stuff that I have.  By the time I make it to the store, I have about three projects to finish. Thank goodness for yarns with no dye lots.

Once at the store, I buy what I need, then I buy what I like, and then I stock up on some yarns that I use frequently.

Well, it's time to start another project, as I'm working today and won't have time to go to the store... *sigh*

Trying to stay afloat for Summer

Today I've been trying to figure out how to focus my summer advertising on the Southern Hemisphere. Since most of my items are things to keep you warm, and since down there winter is approaching, it seems like the perfect thing to do. It's been harder than I anticipated.

Project Wonderful now allows you to focus your campaigns in different areas, but unfortunately the choices are US (north), Canada (north), Europe (north) and other. I'm trying other to see how it goes, but I have no idea how many Southern countries are in that group. So far on my google analytics I've had one hit from South Africa...but I don't know if it even gets cold there at all.

I'll keep plugging away, in the mean time, here are some shameless promotions of some of the things I have in stock.

Trying to accomplish the un-accomplishable

Yesterday I was only supposed to work a half a day. 3 shows, in and out, what could be easier? I had my day planned, go to Michaels, then go to work. Unfortunately, the person performing during the first half of the day hurt his foot and asked if I could work a whole day...Change of plans...but I said yes because I needed the money.

So then the plan was to finish my newest beach cover-up and then start on the wedding snood in between shows...the key word is "was"...After working during two breaks I ran out of yarn for the cover-up. (I was working with some really long scraps I had left over from another project.) I don't need that much more, so I'm still trying to decide whether to buy a whole new skien where I'll use less than a quarter of it, or just scrap this project for a while.

Ok...change of plans...I thought, "OK, I'll just work on the snood today." Well, I wanted to add pearl beads to it, but unfortunately, the pearls that I got had holes that were waaaaay to small for the yarn....sigh...I ended up playing solitaire on my phone for the rest of the day...fun as it was, very unproductive.

I did get to Michael's after work, got some new pearl beads and have since started on the snood...my fingers are crossed that I can finish it today at work.

Want to see some projects that aren't frustrating?

Remember to tune in tomorrow to see the Sunday Funday Video of the week!
