Getting Close to 5K

I've lengthened my running route, and last Wednesday and today I ran 2.64 miles! I'm almost to 3.1 which is a 5K.

Luckily it is still relatively cool in the mornings when I run, but I know that soon it will be in the 90's as early as 7am.  I'm going to need to buy some running shorts as sweat pants aren't going to cut it for too much longer.

I'm still not a huge fan of the actual running part. I really have to force myself to go. I am a huge fan of the weight I've lost, and I'm also a fan of how I feel after the run.  My body is so exhausted that after a couple glasses of water, I feel like I've drunk half a bottle of wine. Maybe I just get my "runner's high" a little too late...lol

  1. I know what you mean - I don't really like running, either, but I love how I feel when I'm finished!

  3. Congrats on all the success you've been having with running, that is awesome.

Sometimes the results of something, do motivate you for the actual activity. I walk and do yoga for excercise. Sometimes though, after long winters, I don't want to do as much yoga and just want to walk, walk, walk....but then I realize that my body just doesn't feel as good without the yoga so I have to get back on track with it.

Again, congratulations and keep sticking to your routine.

  4. Many times I feel the same about things I design, and think I should put them aside and start something new, but I've learnt that I should go through with it and many times I realize that I was wrong!

  5. I mean - I was wrong at the beginning and that I was good of me to finish it!

  7. Way to go! I started running this year and am still not a huge fan during it, either. I only stay on the treadmill for 30 minutes at a time, and half the time I'm walking. My record is 2.45 miles.
